February First Friday: Kelsey Doyle

Come join us for First Friday at The Satellite Santa Cruz from 6 pm to 8 pm

We will be featuring the photography of Kelsey Doyle in our event space. We will also be demoing our HTC Vive virtual reality headset in our digital media studio. 

We will be serving light snacks and drinks. 

Kelsey Doyle is a documentary filmmaker and photographer who aims to blend visual anthropology and journalism to further our understanding of peoples and cultures that populate our planet. Her work, primarily focused on environmental and social justice issues, has taken her all over the world, from the jungles of Sumatra, savannahs of Maasailand, to the outermost Pacific islands of Micronesia and has been published by platforms such as Stanford, National Geographic, Oceanic Society, National Science Foundation, UN, PBS Newshour, NYU, and Harvard Business Review. Kelsey holds an M.A. in News and Documentary Journalism from New York University and a B.A. in Film and Digital Media from the University of California. She’s lived in Buenos Aires, Brooklyn, London and is currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
